It absolutely always ruins the flow of dictation and composition for me, and is a million miles from the ease with which this can be done on an old fashioned dictaphone. It can do these things - it even supports both overwriting and inserting - but to do so is fidily, time consuming and requires a lot of concentration - not intuitive at all and after several weeks of use it hasn't got much easier. Unfortunately this app really isn't that good for this purpose, which I feel should be core functionality in a dictaphone. The main thing I was after was after was the ability to edit recordings, either on the go or later, so that I can dictate and re-compose as I go
